The short answer

Preserve the question, full answer and sources. Correct the factual problem on pages you control and request corrections on relevant third-party sources when appropriate. Retest after the source is accessible and updated. Retrieval and answer generation vary, so a corrected page does not guarantee the next response is correct.

Identify which source owns the wrong fact

Compare the incorrect statement with the current website and any cited third-party page. If your source is wrong, correct it. If another publisher owns the error, use its correction process. If no supporting source is visible, preserve that uncertainty rather than inventing an origin.

Maintain a correction record

Record the fact, authoritative reference, changed URL and date. Check dependent pages such as comparisons, location pages or older announcements so the website does not continue to contradict itself.

Retest the same question after publication. A corrected source and an unchanged assistant response can coexist; the response may not yet use the changed page or may draw on other information.

What to check

  1. Preserve the incorrect response and its citations so the factual issue can be reproduced and assessed.
  2. Correct the source you control. Where relevant, request a correction from the owner of an inaccurate third-party source.
  3. Retest after the corrected source is publicly accessible, preserving both successful and unsuccessful observations.

A practical example

If an assistant cites an old page for a discontinued offer, update or redirect that source appropriately and make the current offer explicit. The correction is complete when the source is fixed; the next AI response remains a separate observation.

These steps are Arrow AI's implementation guidance. The example is illustrative; it is not a measured customer result. Publication and source access do not guarantee an AI recommendation.
