The short answer

There is no universal timeline. Deployment, crawling, indexing, source selection and response generation are separate events. Set a baseline window and a review cadence, record what changed, and report the observations available at each review. Do not convert an implementation schedule into a promised date for recommendations.

Separate the stages of discovery

Publication makes a page public. Crawling retrieves it. Indexing makes it available in a search index. Citation is an observed selection in a generated response. A completed earlier stage does not establish that the later stage has happened.

Use a review schedule instead of a promised deadline

Set a cadence based on the business need and collection cost. Save the same questions, full responses and source links at each review. Report no citation when that is what the valid observations show.

Investigate access, relevance and evidence where there is a concrete gap. Repeatedly changing timestamps or requesting the same indexing action does not create a reliable completion date for AI recommendations.

What to check

  1. Record a baseline before making changes and distinguish publication from crawling and indexing.
  2. Choose a repeatable review cadence and retain the same questions, surfaces and conditions where possible.
  3. Report what was actually observed at each review, including no citations and missing coverage.

A practical example

A monthly review may show that a page is accessible but has not appeared in the saved answers. Report those as two separate findings rather than calling the content a success or assigning a guaranteed future citation date.

These steps are Arrow AI's implementation guidance. The example is illustrative; it is not a measured customer result. Publication and source access do not guarantee an AI recommendation.
