The short answer

They may cover part of the work. Check whether your current tools provide the actual AI answers, cited sources and collection context you need, as well as ordinary search data. Buy an additional product only for a demonstrated gap that affects your decisions.

Separate search performance from answer observations

Google states that established SEO practices also apply to its AI search features, and that traffic from those features is included in Search Console’s Web reporting. That does not make a search-performance report a complete transcript of how different AI products describe your brand.

Write down the questions your existing reports cannot answer. You might need to inspect a comparison answer, verify whether a cited page supports a claim or compare the same question across selected tools. If an existing feature supplies that evidence, test it before adding another subscription.

Run a gap-based evaluation

Bring a small sample of buying questions to your current vendor and any proposed new tool. Ask each to show the answer, date, sources, collection method and export. Record what was demonstrated and what remains unconfirmed. An unavailable detail in public marketing material is not proof that the feature does not exist.

Keep website diagnostics and content quality in the workflow even if you add AI tracking. A new dashboard cannot fix a blocked or misleading source page on its own. Assign owners for measurement and publication so that an observed gap can lead to an approved change.

What to check

  1. List the decisions your existing SEO reports already support.
  2. Demonstrate the missing answer-level evidence with real sample records.
  3. Keep technical SEO, publishing and AI observations connected in one review.

A practical example

Illustrative example: a team already uses Search Console to examine search clicks and indexing. It evaluates a separate tool only after identifying a need to retain dated comparison answers and cited URLs that its current reporting does not provide.

These steps are Arrow AI's implementation guidance. The example is illustrative; it is not a measured customer result. Publication and source access do not guarantee an AI recommendation.
