Use your website analytics to review identifiable referring sources and landing pages, then connect meaningful actions such as form submissions or bookings where the setup allows. Keep this distinct from Search Console’s Google search performance and from saved AI citation observations. Some visits have missing or ambiguous source information and should remain unattributed.
Confirm the hub is included in the analytics setup
Check whether the subdomain loads the intended analytics configuration under the site’s consent rules. Test the path from an answer page to the main website and the conversion destination. Verify that moving between your own pages does not distort the journey report.
Inspect the actual source and landing-page fields available in the analytics product. Maintain a documented list of identifiable AI referrers, but do not classify all direct or unknown traffic as AI. A copied link or later return visit may not preserve its original discovery source.
Measure useful actions after the landing page
Choose events that represent real business progress. Opening a booking widget is different from confirming a meeting; clicking a submit button is different from a successfully received inquiry. Test the final destination, not only the browser event.
Report traffic and conversion observations with the date range and measurement limits. They can help prioritize which answers deserve maintenance, but they do not reveal every prompt that led a person to the site or establish the cause of every sale.
What to check
- Verify analytics coverage for the hub and the onward journey.
- Keep identifiable referrals separate from direct and unknown visits.
- Test successful inquiry or booking events and their destination records.
A practical example
A visitor lands on a pricing answer from an identifiable AI referral and submits an inquiry. The team records the referral and inquiry, while a later direct visit remains a separate session unless its measurement system can legitimately connect them.
